Your website already says what you sell, who it is for and how you sound. That is a reel.
We gave Claude one thing, the address of our own website, and asked for a reel. This is what came back, start to finish, with nothing else supplied: no photos, no script, no brief.
The colours are the site's own. The bird, the spyglass and the flowering branch are drawings from the site. The two phone clips are sample reels the site already shows. Claude found all of it by reading the page.
What Claude reads from your website
We started a brand new account in Ootto, gave it ootto.ai and nothing else, and let it read.
About a minute later the board said Your board is ready, 15 creators, 5 ideas.
Here is what it wrote down about us, word for word from that run:
- Niche: "Ootto is a marketing autopilot for Instagram. It reads your website, then plans, makes and posts reels in your voice and colours, replies to comments and sends links by DM."
- Audience: "Business owners who need to post on Instagram every week but don't want to film, edit or plan reels themselves, or pay an agency or freelance editor."
- Voice: "Plain, direct and reassuring. Short sentences, second person, practical and low on hype."
- A hook it pulled from the page: "Your website already holds your next reels. Ootto just finds them."
It also read the look of the site: the cream page colour, the dark brown text, the orange of the buttons, and the serif type. Every reel for this account now starts from those.
Then it went looking at what already works for brands like this one. The 15 creators on the board are real accounts in the niche, and the 5 ideas are built from their reels. You can correct any of it by hand before the first reel.
Business owners: set it up in five steps
You need an Ootto account and Claude. Any Claude plan works, the free one included, though Anthropic limits free accounts to one custom connector (Anthropic's guide).
Add your website
Sign up at ootto.ai. The first screen has one box, Where your brand lives. Paste your website and press Start.
Open Customize
In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Customize in the left sidebar.
Connectors, then Add
Choose Connectors, then the Add button.

Pick Add custom connector from the menu.
Name it, paste the address
Name it Ootto, paste https://mcp.ootto.ai/mcp and press Add. Then press Connect and sign in to Ootto. There is no key to copy.
Shortcut: open Claude's connector form with Ootto already filled in, then press Connect. On a phone, do this once on a computer and Ootto then works in the Claude app too. Every screen is also in the connector guide.
The prompts that turned our website into a reel
Your board in Ootto shows the ideas it wrote from your website. Each idea has a Make it in Claude button. It copies a full prompt that carries your account and that idea, and it opens with this line:
Build this reel with your Ootto MCP tools for my account.
Paste the whole prompt from the button into Claude. Claude opens a private workspace, reads your brand and your site's pictures, writes the script, records the voiceover and renders the reel. Your first one takes about 20 to 25 minutes while it learns your brand. Later ones are faster.
The idea we picked was "Website in, approved reel out", with this spoken hook: "Business owners: Ootto reads your website and makes your weekly Instagram reel." Claude wrote one line of script per scene, timed every scene to the voice, and looked at its own frames before it rendered.
Not quite right? Tell Claude what to change in plain words, like "make the end card my button colour". A change keeps the rest of the reel as it is and remakes only what you asked.
Nothing posts on its own. The reel lands in your Ootto library, and it goes to Instagram only when you say yes.

- Restart Claude Code (exit, then claude) and confirm with claude mcp list

4 · Memory
A free, private notes app - your files stay on your machine as plain Markdown.
- Download it (free), create a vault - it's just a folder on your disk
- In Obsidian: Settings -> Community plugins -> Browse -> search "MCP Connector" -> Install -> Enable
- In the plugin's own settings, "Quick setup for clients" -> Download .mcpb and drag it onto Claude Desktop to auto-install (or "Copy config for Claude Desktop" and paste it into Claude Desktop's Settings -> Developer -> Edit Config, then restart)
- Point the skills at that vault so every script is written from your own proven patterns, not a blank page
5 · Render
Render the reel from the script your skills produced (a Node package).
- Scaffold a project: npx create-video@latest --yes --blank my-video, then cd my-video && npm i
- There's no Claude connector that renders for you - Remotion ships Agent Skills instead: npx skills add remotion-dev/skills drops best-practice rules into .claude/skills so Claude writes correct Remotion code
- Drop the script into a composition and render it yourself with npx remotion render <CompositionName> - that mp4 is what you post

What makes a website reel worth watching
A website is written to be read, and a reel is heard once while someone scrolls. Three things decided whether our website reel worked:
- Say who it is for in the first two seconds. Our hook starts with "Business owners". A stranger knows at once whether to stay.
- Use the site's own look, not a template. The colours and drawings in the reel above came from the page, so it looks like us and not like every other reel.
- Show the thing only you do. For us that is website in, reel out, and a yes before anything posts. For a bakery it might be the one loaf nobody else bakes.
