As of 2026-08-19, most Auto-DM failures come from trigger mismatch, publish state, or execution-path filtering.
1) Confirm trigger selection
From the Quick Automation setup:
- Verify the post/reel that should trigger the automation.
- Confirm the specific comment filter and active trigger selection.
- Check for multiple active comment automations; execution order can matter.
If the wrong trigger is live, downstream sends do not happen.
2) Confirm flow lifecycle
- Open the automation in Automations.
- Ensure it is Go Live.
- Re-open and republish once to refresh state.
3) Validate run behavior
- Send a fresh test comment.
- Compare Runs and Sends if Opening DM is enabled.
- Verify any link or optional step is not filtering contacts.
If both are zero, re-check social connector permissions and trigger source.
What to send support with if still stuck
- Automation name and ID.
- Trigger post/reel ID.
- Timestamped test comment.
- Runs/Sends values at failure time.
