What Is Ootto? The Instagram Reels Connector for Claude and ChatGPT

Ootto is a connector that lets Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants run your Instagram and YouTube: research your niche, make your reels and carousels, and post them after you approve.

You add Ootto to your AI assistant once, connect your Instagram through Instagram's own login screen, and then ask for what you want in plain words. If you would rather not use an AI assistant at all, Ootto's done-for-you plans have our team send you the reels every week to approve.

People ask us this under almost every reel: "Who is Otto, and what is Otto before granting it access to my account?", "Are you talking about ootto?", "Is it some paid tool you are selling?". This is the plain answer.

What does Ootto do?

Once connected, your AI assistant can do the work of a small content team on your account:

• Read your numbers. Ask which reel brought the most followers this month, or which ones flopped and why. It reads your real Instagram insights.
• Research your niche. It finds the creators and the reels that are working in your niche right now, and what they have in common.
• Plan ideas. Ideas built on what is working and on what makes you different.
• Make the reels and carousels. Script, voice (a stock voice or your own cloned voice), scenes, captions, rendered as a finished video in your brand's colours.
• Change them by asking. "Make the hook shorter" is an edit, not a new project.
• Post or schedule them, only after you approve each one.
• Reply to comments and send people the link they asked for in DMs, following rules you set.

Which AI assistants does Ootto work with?

• Claude: on claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude Code. Any Claude plan works, Free included (setup).
• ChatGPT: added as a custom server (setup and plan rules).
• Cursor and Grok: setup pages at /cursor-connector and /grok-connector.

Ootto also has its own web app, so you can see every reel, approve it and manage your accounts without opening a chat.

Which platforms does Ootto post to?

Instagram and YouTube. Each brand connects its own Instagram and its own YouTube channel, and Ootto posts reels to Instagram and Shorts and videos to YouTube, after you approve them. It does not post to TikTok, Facebook or LinkedIn today. You can download any reel it makes and post it there yourself.

Is Ootto free?

Signing up is free, and so are our Claude skills on GitHub. The connector that lets your assistant act on your Instagram needs a paid plan:

• Weekly, $10/week, for one brand.
• Self-serve, $48/month, for up to 50 brands.
• Starter, $199/month, and Done-for-you, $499/month: our team makes the reels for you and you approve them.

Is it safe to connect my Instagram to Ootto?

Here is exactly what happens when you connect:

• You approve the connection on Instagram's own screen. You never type your Instagram password into Ootto, Claude or ChatGPT.
• You see the permissions before you say yes: your profile, your posts and comments, and the ability to reply, send DMs and publish.
• Nothing is posted until you approve it, on every plan.
• You can disconnect any time from Accounts in Ootto, or remove Ootto from your assistant's connectors. Either one stops Ootto acting for you.

Is it Ootto or Otto?

Ootto, spelled O, O, T, T, O. It is written that way everywhere we publish: ootto.ai, the connector address https://mcp.ootto.ai/mcp, and our free skills at github.com/Ootto-AI. Ootto is its own product, not a feature of another app.

How do I start?

1. Sign up at ootto.ai and add your website or Instagram handle, so Ootto learns your brand.
2. Add Ootto to your assistant. For Claude, the connector page has a button that fills in the form for you.
3. Connect your Instagram, and YouTube if you want.
4. Ask for your first reel.

Ootto's own estimate is that your first reel takes about 20 to 25 minutes while Claude learns your brand, and later ones are faster.
